Houser’s longtime commitment to restoration, preservation and promotion of the Blountville Historic District inspired many to refer to him as “the mayor of Blountville.”
A sign was unveiled Friday to mark an entrance to the future Park at Deery Inn, which will include several picnic areas on the rear lawn of the inn, along the shady banks of Muddy Creek. Being honored was a surprise for Houser.
