KINGSPORT – The Mountain Music Museum is working to expand its impact in the Model City and beyond. Among other things, the museum will soon offer free visits for school-aged children and is working to host more scholarship shows to benefit music students.
The Appalachian Cultural Music Association and ETSU are teaming up to present a new music education scholarship in memory of country recording artist Reece Shipley. To help raise money for the scholarship, the ACMA and ETSU will host the 2019 Reece Shipley Memorial Scholarship Show at Northeast State Community College this Friday.
The Appalachian Cultural Music Association (ACMA) has relocated its Mountain Music Museum and “Pickin’ Porch” show from Bristol to Broad Street. That show will have two stages – at the Broad Street venue in the former Uncorked location and also at the Renaissance Center, where ACMA plans 11 events in 2018.
