MURFREESBORO — Dobyns-Bennett’s 4x800 relay team of Dane Sullins, Gavin Thomas, Caleb Hagood and Luke Mussard sped off to a record-breaking run at Thursday’s TSSAA Class AAA track and field championships at Middle Tennessee State.
The quartet clocked 7:50.76 to eclipse the D-B school record as well as the all-time Northeast Tennessee mark. The Indians crossed the finish nearly four seconds ahead of state runner-up Farragut.
