Four bare walls under the Interstate 26 overpass on North Roan Street could soon be adorned with artwork showcasing the natural beauty of Johnson City and the surrounding region.
These artistic endeavors came about through a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, which allowed Kingsport to contract with two local artists to paint the bridge murals.
Local artists are painting murals on the underside of two bridges along the Greenbelt, one on Clinchfield Street near Cherokee Village and another along Eastman Road near Olive Garden.
Exactly one month after work began at Paramount Bristol, artisans have reinstalled newly restored murals in the historic theater.
