In the eight counties of Northeast Tennessee, three new deaths (one each in Sullivan County, Washington County, and Carter County) and 177 new cases were reported Friday by the Tennessee Department of Health.
The new cases brought the eight-county region's pandemic total (confirmed and probable) to 16,533. The region's death toll remained at 297.
Washington County had the most new cases in the region at 136. Sullivan County was second with 88 new cases. Hancock County's total cases dropped by three.
Statewide, 75 new deaths and 1,770 new cases were reported.
Average positive rates over the last seven days in Northeast Tennessee's counties ranged from 10.9% to 20.1%.
