KINGSPORT — The first snow day of 2021 is in the books as one to three inches of snow fell across the Tri-Cities on Friday, causing school to adjourn for the day and leaving a slushy mess on the roads by mid-afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, snow began falling after midnight on Friday and continued throughout the morning. Eventually, the storm left a couple of inches of snow in the low lying areas of our region and another inch or so in the higher elevations.
The forecast for Saturday calls for highs in the middle 30s, with dry, cloudy weather to start the day. The NWS is reporting no snow for Saturday.
