Robert “Bob” Hawk passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport after a period of declining health.
He was born in Knoxville, TN on August 4, 1949 and grew up in Copperhill, TN. He attended Copper Basin High School, graduated from Tennessee Military Academy, attended UT Knoxville, and was a graduate of UT Dental School in 1972. Bob served in the US Navy as a Lieutenant in the Dental Corp from 1973-74. He was a general dentist in Kingsport from 1975-2012 and was a member of the TN Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the First District Dental Society. Bob served as an usher at First Broad Street United Methodist Church where he was a member. His hobbies included golf in his younger years, travel, gardening and wood working.
Bob was the son of the late Louise and Oliver Hawk.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy; sister, Patti Hawk Gibson and husband, Michael; aunt and uncle, Diana and Bill Hawk; nieces and nephews, McKenzie and David Ethier and Whitney and Michael Hogue, Melanie and Josh Ratliff, Reese Milhorn, and Stephanie and Rick Upchurch; and precious great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at the church at 11:00 am with Dr. Randall Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
