ROGERSVILLE - If there's one silver lining to the affect that the COVID-19 crisis had on the 2019-20 school year, it gave Cherokee High School students an opportunity to have their prom this past Friday evening in a very special location.
For the first time in school history Cherokee's prom, albeit an unofficial non-school sponsored function, was held in historic downtown Rogersville at Town Square surrounded by some of the oldest building in Tennessee.
Cherokee's traditional prom was cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis, but a group of local volunteers, business leaders and student leaders got together to make sure the Class of 2020 didn't miss out on this important aspect of the high school experience.
The Times News requested prom photos from attendees, some of which are seen here. All Cherokee prom photos received by the Times News can be viewed in the online version of this article at www.timesnews.net
