KINGSPORT - Volunteers completed the installation of the Lynn Garden mural earlier this week.

The 100-foot long mural is located on the outdoor walls of the Lynn Garden Hardware building, and illustrates a brief history of the Lynn Garden community. Volunteers worked about two weeks installing the mural panels to the two walls.

Images include such iconic features as the Lynn Garden restaurant, the old Lynn View High School (and Lynx mascot), the Optimist Club's youth football league, a Pal's cup, model trains, a golden cross and senior citizens.

Organizers of the project say the mural is meant to direct folks to “the heart of Lynn Garden” - the Lynn View Community Center just up the road.
