The Vision will be open Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to join for fun and fellowship.

Called to Calvary will sing Sunday at 6 p.m. at Duncansville Christian Church, Bramley Gap Road, Abingdon, Virginia.

A fourth Saturday singing will be held at Cedar Chapel Church Aug. 28 starting at 7 p.m. Scheduled singers are David and Debbie Easterling and True Faith.

Services

Rogersville Baptist Temple will have a Jubilee Service on Friday at 7 p.m. Michael Lindsay will preach.

Clinch Valley Church in Eidson will have morning and evening services Sunday with Pastor Darrell Thacker preaching.

Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church will have Rev. Earl Miller preaching at both services Sunday.

The Bishop Family will sing and Pastor Tim Risner will preach Sunday at 6 p.m. at Orebank Chapel Central Baptist Church.

Gorman McMurray will preach at Durham’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Pastor Terry Rhoton welcomes everyone to attend or watch on Facebook live.

Homecoming

Bays Mountain Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday. The Heavenly Reflections will sing, and dinner will follow the service. Church will start at 10:45 a.m.

Homecoming at Cedar Chapel Church will be held Sunday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. The Sluss Family from Nickelsville, Virginia, will be there, and dinner will follow the service. There will not be an evening service.

New Providence Presbyterian Church, Highway 11W, 214 Stony Point Road, Surgoinsville, will celebrate its 116th homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 12, beginning at 11 a.m. There will be special music beginning at 10:30 a.m. and a covered dish fellowship dinner to follow the service.

Revival

Bible Way Baptist Church in Kingsport is hosting a homecoming revival with Don McCann Sunday through Wednesday. The revival will begin with a homecoming service on Sunday and go through Wednesday evening. (No Sunday evening service.) Community

Rye Cove Community Church will host a fish fry Friday starting at 4 p.m. Dine in or take out. Cost is $10 a plate for all you can eat.

Jonesborough United Methodist Church will host a yard sale fundraiser Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Proceeds will fund renovations of the community outreach building. Spaces are available for the yard sale at $20 per space (10x15 feet) or two adjacent spaces for $35. There will be four covered spaces with electricity in the pavilion for $40 each. The deadline to book a space is Friday at 3 p.m. Haven of Mercy Ministries, a homeless shelter, will be in attendance accepting any yard sale items that do not sell.

Cornerstone Church in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, will celebrate its 19th anniversary on Saturday behind the church on the stage and on the grounds. Sixteen singing groups from around the region will be featured. There will be hotdogs, children’s activities and prizes. The event will begin at 1 p.m.

Gray United Methodist Church is serving a free community drive-through meal on Thursday from 6 until 7 p.m. The menu will be smoked chicken legs, baked beans, slaw and a dessert. Drive up to the side of the church, where there will be people to greet you and bring your food. The church is located in Gray beside the fairgrounds.

Fall Branch United Methodist Church will host Friends in Need to provide COVID testing (drive through in church parking lot) and COVID shots in the church fellowship hall on Friday, Aug. 20, from 8 a.m. to noon. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson shots will be available. No appointment necessary.

LampLight Theatre in downtown Kingsport will present the Foggy Valley Gang in “Skin Deep” Aug. 13-29. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior adults, $7 for students, and free for children 5 and under. A dinner theater package on Aug. 28 is $30 for adults and $17 for students.
