The Greeneville Tent Crusade is coming back to Greeneville. This free, non-ticketed event will take place May 24 through June 4 at 3124 W. Andrew Johnson Hwy. Services are scheduled to begin each evening at 7 p.m. There will be preaching by Evangelist D.R. Harrison and music from The Nelons, The Inspirations, Ricky Atkinson, The Allens, The Elkins Family, The Tabb Family, The Horn Family, Frank Thacker, Of The Day and Aaron Butler.
The homecoming and decoration for Kincaid Cemetery, located on Highway 11-W near Rogersville, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, has been canceled. Donations for upkeep may be mailed to Roberta Anderson at 191 Thurman Lane, Rogersville, TN 37857, or someone will be at the cemetery Sunday between 2 and 4 to take donations.
Ross Camp Ground United Methodist Church will host the annual Memorial Weekend “Meet and Greet” at the RCG Cemetery. A tent will be set up near the cemetery, and water and snacks will be served. Church members will welcome families and friends as they come to place flowers on graves of loved ones. The event will be held on Saturday, May 29, from 1 until 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. The annual Hensley Cemetery Decoration Day will be held on Saturday, June 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Big Cut Baptist Church in Gate City, Virginia. Music by Mike and Dottie Lane. Gray United Methodist Church provides a free meal for the community on the first and third Thursday of each month. The menu for May 20 is sloppy joes, chips and dessert. Drive up between 6 and 7 p.m., and a meal will be brought to your car. The church is located behind Gray School and beside the Appalachian Fairgrounds. The church pantry is open on Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. until noon for those who may be in need of food. You can drive up to the front of the church, where someone will greet you and then bring a food bag to your car.
Beech Creek Missionary Baptist Church will have a community event and yard sale on Saturday, May 22, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. with children’s activities, hamburgers and hot dogs, a bounce house and more. Come meet new Pastor Billy Ray Carmack and his wife, Judy.
Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan University will host Rev. Dr. Eric Barreto, Weyerhaeuser Associate Professor of New Testament at Princeton Theological Seminary, for a lecture, “Jesus at the Table: Belonging and Salvation in the Gospel of Luke.” The lecture will take place in the Gregory Center at Milligan University on Monday, May 24, at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The event will follow Milligan’s COVID-19 safety protocols, and masks will be required inside the Gregory Center.
