The Kingsport Carousel is a totally renovated 1956 Allen Herschell carousel located inside the temperature-controlled “Pal’s Roundhouse” at 350 Clinchfield St. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. All rides are $1.

Duffield Daze will be held Sept. 3-5 featuring a full slate of activities including a parade, tractor pull, lawn mower pull, logging competitions, crafts, rides for kids, inflatables and a car show. There will be live bands from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday and fireworks Saturday night.

Library fun

Join the Kingsport Public Library for a Tuesday morning walking group this fall. Participants will meet in the library’s parking lot and get moving with a walk downtown. Strollers, kids and friendly dogs welcome. Walks will be held Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m., August through October, weather permitting.
