Scrapbook Showcase: Christmas Cheer

Submitted by Britni Mains • Dec 3, 2017 at 10:30 AM
Fourth-graders at Indian Springs Elementary School recently completed their annual Christmas project to benefit Greystone Healthcare Center in Blountville. The fourth-grade classes have been doing the project for approximately 10 years.

Families and local businesses donated shampoo, body wash, lotion, Kleenex and non-slip socks for the 90 residents of Greystone.

In place of a Christmas craft, each child writes a nice note on a Christmas card, decorates the gift bag and fills it with items we've collected. The students never fail to amaze us with their kind words and giving hearts. They are blessed by the projects.

The fourth-grade teachers deliver the bags to the residents of Greystone. They are always surprised and grateful. The gift has even caused a few of them to cry tears of joy. They especially love the handwritten notes from the kids.
