Cherokee NJROTC holds Change of Command ceremony

ROGERSVILLE — Cherokee High School NJROTC held its end-of-semester change of command ceremony on Jan. 3.

The change of command ceremony is held to pass on the leadership positions to the cadets who have proven their worthiness for the role. Among the positions that are exchanged are Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, Command Master Chief, and Operations Officer.

The position of Commanding Officer was passed from Cadet Commander Bradley Thacker to Cadet Commander Jonathan Newhouse.

The position of Executive Officer was passed from Cadet Commander Jonathan Newhouse to Cadet Lieutenant Commander Larinda Henley.

The position of Command Master Chief was passed from Cadet Command Master Chief Nicole Jacobson to Cadet Master Chief Austin Davis.

The position of Operations Officer was passed from Cadet Lieutenant Commander Larinda Henley to Cadet Lieutenant Commander Nathaniel (Chase) Adams

Cadet Commander Bradley Thacker was given the position of Special Operations Officer, a role where he will be working directly under the Cherokee High School's Naval Science instructors, Chief Warrant Officer Shumate and Chief Stidham.

Cadet Lieutenant Junior Grade Jewel McGregor took over as the unit's Supply Officer. Cadet Lieutenant Junior Grade Elizabeth Massengill took over as the Administrative Officer, and Cadet Lieutenant Johnny Pearson took over as Color Guard Commander.
