KTG will host its annual season reveal gala Saturday at the Renaissance Center theatre, and tickets are still available. During the event, KTG actors will perform short snippets of each show from the upcoming season.
“Our goal is, one, for people to get excited about what we’re doing and, two, reveal the shows,” said Tina Radtke, executive director of KTG. “But also, if it’s a show they don’t know … it’s to sort of give them an idea of what the show is so they can decide if it’s something they’re interested in or if they want to come see it.”
How to attend
Tickets to the gala are $10 each and can be purchased by phone at (423) 392-8427, online at kingsporttheatre.org or in person at the Renaissance Center. The event will be general admission with no reserved seating.
What to expect
Throughout the evening, actors will stage five- to seven-minute snippets of each show in the upcoming season. The box office will open at 6 p.m., doors will open at 6:30 and the performances will begin at 7.
“It’s basically commercials for each of them, like little trailers,” Radtke said. “Once the performance is done, then we will … have food and drinks and music. It’s a lot of fun.”
Directors for each of the shows will also be announced during the gala, and awards will be handed out for actors, vocalists, shows and volunteers of the year for the past season, Radtke said. Community members can vote for these awards on the Kingsport Theatre Guild Facebook page or at kingsporttheatre.org.
