BLOUNTVILLE — For the last 11 years, Howard Reynolds has organized a Christmas benefit dinner for locals in need.

This year’s event, held in partnership with Hunger First, will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, from 5-10 p.m. at the Outdoorsmen, located at 4535 Highway 11-W.

“People put a lot of hours in that’s all just out of the kindness of their heart to help us with it,” Reynolds said. “We’ve raised $100,000 in 10 years, so we hope to build on that.”

There is no cost to attend, and no tickets are needed. A barbecue dinner will be served by donation only, and other offerings will include a raffle, a silent auction and live music from Mark Larkins.

All proceeds from the event will help those in need throughout the Tri-Cities. Reynolds said the money is often used to help families make their house payments or buy Christmas presents for their children.
