KINGSPORT — Before the kids head back to school next week, maybe you should go to the Kingsport Aquatic Center and enjoy a movie by the outdoor water park.

As in previous years, the Aquatic Center is hosting a back-to-school movie night on Saturday. The feature will be “The Sandlot,” which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The gates open at 7:30 p.m. and the movie will start around 8:30. The movie is open to the public and tickets will be $3 per person and can be purchased at the Aquatic Center’s outdoor gate. KAC and YMCA members get in for free.

The movie will be shown at the outdoor water park and the concession stand and outdoor pools will be open.

Back-to-school hours at the facility will start Monday. The indoor hours will remain the same, but the outdoor water park hours will be altered.

Half-price admission will be offered Monday – Friday after 4 p.m. During the month of August, the Aquatic Center will also be hosting Thirsty Thursdays, when guests can get half-price 20 ounce drinks from the Oasis concession stand.

Back-to-school hours:

Monday – Friday: 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Saturday: 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Sunday: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
