The University of Pikeville signee averaged 16.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, along with 4.4 steals and 3.1 blocks per game while leading the Wolfpack to the VHSL Class 2 state semifinals before losing to eventual state champion and Mountain 7 District rival Wise Central.
For her efforts, Frazier has been selected as the Times News All-Southwest Virginia girls basketball player of the year.

For the second straight year, VHSL Hall of Fame coach Robin Dotson, who guided Wise Central to their third straight Class 2 state championship and the Lady Warriors’ fifth straight state championship in six years has been named the Times News All-Southwest Virginia coach of the year.
Other first team selections include Wise Central’s Dee Cvetnich and Brook Porter, Eastside’s Kaylee Yates, Gate City’s Sarah Thompson and Abingdon’s Peyton Carter.
Eastside’s Anna Whited is the defensive player of the year, while Thomas Walker’s Laken Burke was named as the team’s underclassman of the year.
Second team selections include Gate City’s Jaden Fullen, Union’s Jayda Smith, Wise Central’s Hannah Carter, Twin Springs’ Abby Castle and Ridgeview’s Nikole Counts.
The Gate City sophomore continued her varsity basketball season after a solid freshman year.
During her second year with the Lady Blue Devils varsity team, Thompson led Gate City with an average of 19.9 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, 4.5 assists and 3.3 steals per game.
Cvetnich is one of four seniors who led Wise Central to its third straight VHSL Class 2 state championship this season.
She averaged 12.8 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.
Like Cvetnich, Porter is a senior who has three Class 2 state championship rings.
Porter provided leadership on and off the court this season.
She averaged 13.5 points per game this season and was perhaps best known this season for her 30-foot, buzzer-beating shot to lead Central to a dramatic win over Ridgeview in the Region 2D championship game.
Yates led Eastside to the Cumberland District regular season and tournament championship this season.
She averaged 17 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.
The junior set personal career marks in scoring this season after recording 38 points in a contest. She also scored 36 points in another game this season.
Carter led a strong Abingdon squad this season, averaging 20.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game for the Lady Falcons.
Carter also set a personal best and school record 42 points in a game.
ANNA WHITED, DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Eastside’s Whited averaged 4 steals and nine deflections per season in leading the Lady Spartans this season.
Whited was also solid on offense for Eastside, averaging 13 points and 7.5 points per game.
LAKEN BURKE, UNDERCLASSMAN OF THE YEAR
Burke had a stellar season as a freshman.
She averaged 16 points and nine rebounds per game to lead the Lady Pioneers to a second-place finish in the Cumberland District.
Gate City’s Fullen averaged 14.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game for the Lady Blue Devils.
She also averaged 3.0 blocks and 2.0 assists per game this season.
Smith had a solid year at Union in the extremely tough Mountain 7 District.
The junior finished the season averaging 17.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for the Lady Bears.
Carter was the only non-senior starter on the state championship Wise Central squad.
The junior averaged 9.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
The Twin Springs senior made a personal milestone this year by surpassing the 1,000-point scoring mark for her career.
Castle averaged 13.5 points per game, along with 3.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game.
The Ridgeview senior has another outstanding season for the Wolfpack.
Counts finished the final season of her high school career with 13.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game while passing the 1,000-point mark in her career.
