ROGERSVILLE — The Hawkins County Humane Society will celebrate its 30th anniversary Saturday with a Fun Bash at the Rogersville City Park.

Festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include special music from Nobody’s Darlin, featuring Victor Travis Phillips and Chris Griffin.

The Fun Bash will have a carnival-like atmosphere with music, food, entertainment, merchandise, a silent auction, and more.

The HCHS Adoption Special

The HCHS also will mark its 30th anniversary with an adoption special of $40 for dogs (except puppies) and $30 for cats.

“We are still at full capacity with new animals coming in every day,” said HCHS board President Dave Toll. “To help our beloved fur babies, we are having an ongoing adoption special. The quality of animals is especially good.”

Toll added, “Only a small portion of the Humane Society’s income comes from local government and adoption funds. We count on donations from people like you ... for operations and improvements. We accept many types of donations including in-kind contributions such as cleaning items, animal bedding, small blankets, cat litter, etc., and volunteers.”

Donations can be made at the City Park during Saturday’s event.
