Clifford Wayne Sprung

KINGSPORT - Clifford Wayne Sprung, 70, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Friday, November 8, 2019, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born December 11, 1948, in Kingsport, to the late George and Virginia Leola Sprung.

Clifford was a wonderful, loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, fishing, and playing computer games and chess. He was an avid U-T football fan.

Clifford was a committed Christian and faithful member of Temple Baptist Church, Kingsport, where he taught Sunday School, served on the Mission Board and was active in the AWANA ministry.

He was a retired welder having traveled the world working in nuclear plants.

Clifford was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rod and Lucinda Jones; family members, Fred Jones, Herman Jones, Darlene Kaiser, Inez Jones, Rod and Robert Jones.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy Sargent Sprung; children, Teresa Fish (Wayne) and Jason Sprung; grandchildren, Isaac and Annika Fish; step-son, Chip Tate; family members, Larry Jones, Ruth Gregory, Faye Harris (Charles); many loving cousins.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 12, 2019, from 12:00-12:45 pm in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm with Dr. Scott Young and Pastor Shawn Head officiating.

A Military Graveside Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with The American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 providing the honors. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Temple Baptist Church, 2200 Memorial Court, Kingsport, TN 37664.

The care of Clifford Sprung and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
