Mike Guy

KINGSPORT - Michael R. “Mike” Guy, 59, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the emergency room at Holston Valley Medical Center. 

Born in Kingsport, TN on October 12, 1959, a son of the late Ray and Ernestine Guy, he had resided in this area his entire life.  He married Ruah on May 6, 1990 in Kingsport.  Mike was the owner/operator of Guy’s Trash Service and a member of the Kingsport Moose Lodge.  He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, dad, pop, brother and friend who loved to race, going to auctions and fishing, but above all loved his grandchildren, Little Justin,  Temperance, and Bentley and his special niece, Misty Rose White.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his sister, Pat and friend, Thomas Lovell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marion Guy and sister, Lisa Guy.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Ruah Guy; daughter, Ruah Babb and fiancé, Chad of Kingsport; son, Justin Michael Guy and fiancée, Amy Hawkins of Kingsport; grandson, Cody Gillenwater; granddaughter, Renna Gillenwater; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Pat White of Kingsport; brother, Randall Guy of Kingsport;  several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Thomas Lovell and Tim Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and at other hours at the residence of his sister, Pat, 1760 Granby Road, Kingsport, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel at 2:00 pm on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Pastor Greg Street officiating. Special music will be provided by The Moneyhuns.

Burial will follow the service in Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
