KINGSPORT - Margie Pickens, 78, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, July 6, 2018, at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport.

Mrs. Pickens was a member of Freedom Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, going to church and loved spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Pickens was preceded in death by her parents, William and Grace Haynes Pritchett, Sr.; sister, Wilma Jean Davis and her twin sister, Margaret McCrary.

Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years, Frank Pickens; daughters, Tracy Spriggs and husband, Bill and Penny Ewing; grandchildren, Shannon Spriggs, Nathan Spriggs and Katie Ewing; great granddaughter, Jackie Spriggs; brothers, Bill Pritchett and Dennis Pritchett; special niece, Diana McKay and husband, Steve and special nephew, George Begley and wife, Tracy and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm Monday, July 9, 2018, in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 7 pm with Pastor Jason Neff officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper. Pallbearers will be Shannon Spriggs, Nathan Spriggs, Dennis Pritchett, Katie Ewing, George Begley and Randall Begley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org/ or to the church or charity of your choice.
