Here’s the latest on weather-related happenings throughout the region. For sports schedule changes, click here for the latest.

6:53 a.m. — Wise County and Norton City schools are now CLOSED Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019 #wisecoschools

4:10 a.m.   A few snow patches and wet roads this morning in #SWVA, according to VDOT Bristol. With temps below freezing, take it slow and be alert to slick spots on bridges and overpasses.

Tuesday, Dec. 10

10:30 p.m. — Lee County Schools and Norton City Schools will be on a 2-hour delay Wednesday, Dec. 11.

9:45 p.m. — From @NWSMorristown: Here are the final forecasted snowfall totals through tonight. The snow will begin to taper off from west to east over the next few hours. We have raised overall amounts slightly based on reports. Primary and secondary roads will mainly remain wet.

8:45 p.m.  — Due to inclement weather UVA Wise will operate on a 90 minute delay on Wednesday, December 11. View the inclement weather schedule for final exams.

7:07 p.m. — From Mark Nagi at TDOT: All @myTDOT crews are out and salting East Tennessee roadways at this hour. All interstates have been treated and crews are staying on their routes. @myTDOT crews will continue to treat routes and will remain on their routes. We will also monitor and treat all routes prior to rush hour tomorrow.

6:34 p.m. — From @NWSMorristown: Updated snow forecast through the rest of the night. Totals have slightly risen compared to the last forecast. Minor accumulations possible over the next few hours then snow tapering off toward midnight. #mrxwx

6:30 p.m. — The National Weather Service in Morristown predicted snow would begin falling in Kingsport Tuesday evening, with up to two inches of accumulation by Wednesday morning. Cold air was expected to move in Tuesday afternoon, turning the rain into sleet and eventually into snow. Tuesday night’s low was expected to be in the middle to upper 20s with a cool, northwest wind overnight. The clouds will slowly erode overnight and the high on Wednesday will be in the lower 40s.

5 p.m. — Rogersville City Schools will be on a 2-hour delay Wednesday, Dec. 11.

4:15 p.m. — The following Frontier Health locations will be on a 2-hour delay opening at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11: Bristol Regional Counseling Center, Tennessee Community Support, Johnson County Mental Health, Hawkins County Mental Health, Nolichucky Mental Health, Holston Counseling Center, Holston C&Y, Erwin Mental Health.

4:08 p.m. — Due to weather conditions, Hawkins County Schools will be on 2-hour delay Wednesday, Dec. 11.

3:20 p.m. — The Science Hill High School orchestra concert has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m., Dec. 19.

3:07 p.m. — From Virginia Department of Transportation (@VaDOT): Keep your eyes on the weather tonight/tomorrow morning. There's potential for winter weather throughout the Commonwealth. Follow regional @VaDot, @511statewideva for updates. Also, watch for black ice on a.m. commute, slow down, increase following distance and use caution.

2:30 p.m. — Scott County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay Wednesday, Dec. 11

2:01 p.m. — Wise County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay Wednesday, Dec. 11
