KINGSPORT — A woman remained hospitalized Tuesday morning after being struck by a truck the previous day outside a city restaurant.

According to Kingsport police, the incident occurred at about 1:45 Monday afternoon at Texas Roadhouse, 1221 East Stone Drive. Brenda K. Quillen, 61, Kingsport, was walking in the parking lot when she was struck by a 2013 Ford F-350.

Police say the truck, driven by Dannie H. Moody, 77, appears to have been traveling at a slow rate of speed. But following the collision, Quillen was knocked to the pavement and pinned beneath the vehicle.

Quillen was transported by EMS to a hospital with “serious incapacitating injuries.” As of late Tuesday morning, she remained in critical condition. A police investigation of the incident is continuing.
