Hawkins man killed in motorcycle crash on 11-W in Church Hill

CHURCH HILL — A Hawkins County man was killed Wednesday morning when a pickup reportedly pulled into the path of the motorcycle he was driving on Highway 11-W near Church Hill.

According to a report filed by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, at 5:55 a.m. on Wednesday Jason Christie, 38, of Church Hill, was driving a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup southbound at the New Canton Road intersection, attempting to cross both lanes of Highway 11-W and continue on Holston Mill Road.

At that same time Kenneth Miller, 70, of Rogersville, was driving a 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Highway 11-W.

Christie reportedly crossed the westbound lanes of 11-W and failed to see Miller eastbound on the motorcycle.

Christie then reportedly pulled into the path of Miller while attempting to cross the westbound lanes of 11-W, the THP stated.

Miller suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

Christie wasn’t injured.

The THP report stated that no citations were issued.
