A Rogersville man ordered a $3 sandwich for delivery from a pizza chain, then acted “overly flirtatious” with the female who brought it to his home. About 90 minutes later, he placed another delivery order — this time for only a 20-ounce drink — and answered his door “almost naked.” Police advised the employee how to privately pursue harassment charges. Meanwhile, the restaurant put the man on its “do not serve” list.
— A 74-year-old woman reported that someone stole a debit card from her wallet and that nearly $60,000 was missing from the account.
— Items worth more than $1,000 were reported stolen at a barbecue restaurant. They included power tools, propane tanks, a pork butt and a gallon of sauce.

At Golden Corral on North Eastman Road, someone used a ladder to reach an infrared camera, then removed it from the outside of the building. Nothing else was reported stolen, with police noting the suspect was likely “familiar” with the security equipment.
A smartphone was reported stolen from a motel, where a man had just met with a woman he knew through the Internet. He suspected she took it before departing but could provide only a possible first name.
At 1:45 a.m., police were alerted to a burglary in progress at Gastroenterology Associates, located across from Holston Valley Medical Center. Surveillance video indicated the suspect was on the fourth floor “crouching and crawling through the offices.” Several officers entered and located the suspect, who was trying to flee via an elevator. In his possession were stolen syringes, a bag and a small speaker. Their total value was listed at $38. He was jailed for burglary.
Central dispatch fielded “numerous calls” about a male creating a disturbance along South John B. Dennis Highway. He allegedly had been “running in traffic, yelling at cars,” then entered a motel and approached a manager at the front desk. She could not make sense of his ramblings. A responding officer found the suspect in a gazebo, where he grew argumentative and refused to leave. He was then arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing.
