According to the operator of an in-home day care, a neighbor "pulled down her pants exposing her buttocks to her." She added that the mooning outside may have been seen by some of the children, but she wasn't sure, while the suspect denied the allegations. No police action was take
In Rogersville, a woman called police on the father of her young child. He reportedly told her to go take a nap and he would watch their child, but then he passed out on the front porch, leaving the child unattended. When questioned by police, he said he didn't know how long he had been asleep. He also admitted to taking Suboxone and drinking alcohol. He was arrested for neglect.
Sullivan County Sheriff's Office
On Bloomingdale Road, a man approached his neighbors as they sat on the porch, telling them to remove "secret cameras" they had placed in his residence. When they replied that they didn't know what he was talking about, he allegedly pulled a gun and pointed it at them, placing them in fear for their lives. The next day, detectives obtained a warrant for the suspect and placed him under arrest for aggravated assault.
During an apparent domestic disturbance on Sharps Creek Road in Bristol, a man retrieved a pistol, stated "it's AK time" and fired several rounds into the air. Witnesses said he then shot numerous rounds into the back of the residence. Responding deputies arrested the suspect without incident for reckless endangerment. A marijuana pipe in his pocket netted an additional drug paraphernalia charge.
Police launched an animal cruelty investigation at a Kingsport home, where the landlord found a tenant's dog in poor health. The suspect is reportedly a truck driver who is out of town and had left the dog alone with no food or water. It was several pounds underweight with ear and eye infections, and was transported to an area vet for a possible blood transfusion. Charges are pending.
Kingsport Police Department
A resident of Model City Apartments — age 67, and recovering from an illness — realized she had left her phone in her car, then flagged down an unknown man who was walking by. She gave him her keys and asked that he retrieve it — then watched as he drove away in her Corolla. Police soon located the stolen vehicle at Westside Inn, as well as the suspect the victim had described. He was arrested and charged with felony theft.
