ROGERSVILLE — Police are looking for a Rogersville man who allegedly fired shots from a handgun Saturday afternoon at two people including the husband of a woman who was visiting him at the time.

The incident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at the home of Gregory Wayne Leake, 32, 720 Outer Drive, Rogersville.

Rogersville Police Department Detective Travis Fields told the Times News that that a female went to Leake's residence because she thought her iPhone 6 was there.

The woman with the missing phone was accompanied by the husband of another woman who was reportedly visiting Leake at his residence at the time.

Leake's grandmother reportedly met the woman missing the phone at the door.

"(The grandmother) came to the door, and the woman said, I hear they may have my cell phone," Fields said. "The grandmother said, Ok let me check, and then she comes back and says, they don't have it. There was some heated words exchanged, and they were going to leave when the male (husband) gets out and starts yelling and causing a scene."

Fields added, "Then he (the husband) goes back and gets in the car. According to all witnesses and neighbors, Mr. Leake comes out waving a small handgun, and as they're going back to their car he (Leake) fires two rounds in their direction."

Police didn't recover any spent shells, nor did they find any bullet holes. But Fields said multiple independent witnesses gave the same account of the shooting as the victims.

Leake was gone when police arrived. As of Monday afternoon he was still wanted on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless endangerment.

Anyone with information on Leake's whereabouts is asked to contact the RPD at (423) 272-7555
