CHURCH HILL — The Church Hill Police Department is seeking information about a Tuesday night home invasion robbery in which the victim was severely beaten and left tied up.

As of Thursday morning, CHPD Chief Mark Johnson was not prepared to release the name of a possible suspect or motive for the robbery. He did, however, ask the public for any information related to the incident.

Here is what we know so far:

Shortly before noon Wednesday, Sgt. Chad Mosley and Patrolman Kevin Grigsby of the CHPD responded to 508 Short St. in reference to a robbery complaint.

Officers learned that during the previous evening, the victim, a resident of the household, was severely assaulted and bound while the residence was ransacked and items were stolen.

The victim was unconscious for a lengthy period of time and then struggled to get free before calling 911.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and has since been released.

Detective Ethan Mays responded to the residence and collected numerous items of physical evidence which support the victim’s claims of being assaulted and bound.

CHPD Criminal Investigations has interviewed several individuals and has a person of interest, but police are withholding the identity of this person as well as the possible motive.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call (423) 357-3487 ext. 2 or to leave tips online at [email protected]
