KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Police Department needs your help in finding the man who allegedly shoplifted more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from Lowe’s.

According to the KPD, the incident took place shortly after 5 p.m. on Nov. 22 at the Lowe’s on West Stone Drive. The white male suspect passed all checkout register points, exited the store pushing a shopping cart overflowing with tools and other merchandise and made no attempt to pay.

The KPD reports that a Lowe’s loss prevention employee confronted the man in the parking lot, at which point he abandoned his stolen loot and fled the scene in a maroon Ford Ranger pickup with a Virginia license plate.

The loss prevention employee noticed a woman sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle as it left the scene.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact the KPD Criminal Investigations Division at (423) 229-9429 or Kingsport Central Dispatch at (423) 246-9111.

Alternatively, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms at Kingsport’s website (www.kingsporttn.gov).
