The move is pending satisfactory completion of construction/renovations and the State Life Safety and Health Surveys. The hospital is located at 127 Healthcare Drive.
A community forum to discuss the move is scheduled for Saturday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Lee Theatre located at 41676 West Morgan Ave., where members of the public will have a chance to meet the new administrators and learn more about the grand opening, hospital services to be provided and how the newly renovated facility benefits local families. Seating is limited to 500.
Jeanette Filpi has been appointed chief executive officer and will present her vision and introduce her core team at the event.
Planned medical services include a 25-bed acute care hospital, emergency room, radiology and lab services, inpatient and outpatient services and telemedicine.
“The Community Needs Assessment demonstrated a clear need for Lee County Medical to open,” Filpi, a hospital industry veteran who has served as CEO and administrator throughout her career, said in a news release.
Her areas of expertise include fiscal management, accreditation preparation, physician relationships, communication, compliance, policy and procedure development and departmental operations.
“We expect the hospital to initially employ 50-75 leadership and team members serving a 30-mile radius,” says Filpi. “Active recruitment is underway.”
Construction and renovations are also in progress which include, but are not limited to, new information technology infrastructure upgrades, integrated climate control, new roof and upgrades to public area flooring in hopes of creating an inviting patient and family experience. A new website, signage and telephone number are also in the project plan.
Lee County Medical Center is scheduled to be one of four Americore Health hospitals.
