ROGERSVILLE — Crews from the Hawkins County Rescue Squad and Tennessee Department of Transportation responded to new slides on Route 66-N north of Rogersville and New Life Road.

That adds to the list of Hawkins County road closures including Mooresburg Springs Road, New Salem Road and Early Branch Road which were closed due to mudslides Saturday.

The public is asked to avoid those areas.

Smaller, localized flooding locations (not requiring a total road closure) are being addressed with high water signs. As flooded locations improve, further assessment of routes will be performed.

Operations Coverage Status: TDOT has been working crews on a 24/7 shift since Friday and will continue through Sunday to monitor routes for flooding and potential concerns (slides, etc).
