ROGERSVILLE — Army combat veteran Robbie Frost gave his service to the infantry in 2007-09, but he probably didn’t intend to give his medals, military award certificates and paperwork to a Rogersville thrift store.

An employee at the Of One Accord ministry’s Shepherd Center in downtown Rogersville found Pfc. Frost’s medals, certificates and other paperwork in a pile of clothes that had been donated to the shop.

The Shepherd Center turned over those materials, including two medals, three award certificates and a military cap, to Hawkins County Veterans Affairs Officer Danny Breeding in hopes of reuniting them with their rightful owner.

Breeding told the Times News Friday, however, that every lead he has uncovered has taken him to a dead end.

Now Breeding is appealing to the public to help him locate Frost so he can return the veteran’s items.

Frost served in Alpha Company of the First Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment from July 2007-09. His commendations indicate he served in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.

“I actually had a couple of addresses — Morning Star Road in Church Hill and Okolona Road in Church Hill,” Breeding said. “Everywhere I’ve gone he’s either moved or has a different number. I’ve attempted for a couple of months trying to locate this guy. I’ve got his records about his schooling, where he served and a lot of his medals and awards.”

Breeding added, “The one I’m surprised he left behind was his Combat Infantryman Badge. That’s only issued to Army infantry soldiers, and that guy needs that. That means he served in actual combat and was fired upon. I wouldn’t think he’d want to get rid of that.”

The other medal is an Army Commendation Medal.

Also in the materials are two certificates for Army Achievement Medals, but those two medals weren’t among the items turned over to Breeding.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Frost is asked either to contact Breeding at (423) 272-5077 or pass that number along to Frost and ask him to call Breeding.
