CHATTANOOGA — Nashville’s Ryan Terry turned in a record-breaking performance at the Tennessee Mid-Amateur Championship on Saturday at Black Creek Club.

Terry's three-day total of 17-under 199 shattered the previous record of 13-under 203, set by Todd Burgan at Cleveland Country Club in 2011, and earned him his first Tennessee Golf Association title.

Terry, whose final-round 63 also was three shots better than the previous mark, won by five shots over defending tournament champion Matt Cooper and six-time Tennessee Mid-Am and two-time U.S. Mid-Amateur champion Tim Jackson.

Cooper turned in the second-lowest round of the day, an 8-under 64. Jackson had a final-round 67.

Lucas Armstrong, Volunteer High School's golf coach, finished fourth at 11 under after closing with a 67.
