A lengthy lightning delay pushed the game’s completion until about 12:15 Saturday morning, but the Bears came away a 42-20 win over host Letcher County Central (2-2).
The Bears (3-0) racked up 429 yards in total offense, an even 400 on the ground.
Mason Polier led the rushing game with 151 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries. Antwun Jenkins had 98 yards on just five carries, Bryce Guerrant ran six times for 92 yards and Zavier Lomax had 46 yards on five carries.
Union quarterback Brody Gibson completed only one pass in his five attempts, but it was a 29-yard touchdown strike to Jenkins.

GREENEVILLE — Senior Corbin Kilgore had a breakout night for the Titans, piling up 201 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 25 carries in the big interstate victory.
Kilgore also provided defensive power for Twin Springs (2-1) by recording three tackles.
Sophomore quarterback Mason Elliott completed 4 of 7 passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns, to Connor Gilmer and Jordan Gillenwater.

ABINGDON — Pulaski County showed why it’s one of the top VHSL Class 4 teams in the state with its dominating performance.
The Cougars (3-0), who have allowed only six points against them over their first three games, kept the Falcons (2-1) off the scoreboard entirely.
Abingdon managed only 27 total yards of offense — 20 passing and 7 rushing.
