Two days left for VA-KY District Fair

WISE — Fabulous weather and tons of family fun have been a perfect combination all week for the 105th VA-KY District Fair & Horse Show at the Shelcy Mullins Sr. Fairgrounds near Wise, and the sunshine is expected to remain in full effect for the fair's final two days.

Gates open at 4 p.m. Friday with one price $20 carnival rides presented by The Great James H. Drew Exposition on the Midway. Friday’s events include the Ivan Fleming concert at 6 p.m., the livestock show at the horse arena at 7 p.m., motocross racing at 7:30 p.m., karaoke in the Arts Building at 7 p.m. and the Collin Raye concert at 8 p.m.

Gates open at 11 a.m. for Saturday's big finale, with free admission from 11 a.m. to noon, and a reprisal of Kids Day from noon through 6 p.m. with one price carnival rides at $15. One price rides of $20 apply after 6 p.m.

Saturday's events include the Horse Show at 6 p.m., the Corey Michael Harris concert at 6 p.m., karaoke in the Arts Building at 7 p.m., and the Folk Soul Revival concert at 8 p.m.

Except for the one hour only free admission window on Saturday, admission is $8 for ages 12 and up, $2 for children ages 5-11, and free for children ages 4 and under. All concerts are free with paid admission.
