Locally, community members are invited to pay their respects and participate in the wreath laying at Mountain Home National Cemetery on the Mountain Home campus in Johnson City.
The Wreaths Across America program remembers and honors veterans through the laying of remembrance wreaths on the graves of fallen heroes and the speaking of their names aloud.
The Mountain Home ceremony will begin promptly at noon with a wreath presented for each branch of the armed forces. Due to the solemn nature of the ceremony and out of respect for the veterans and their families, attendees are asked to arrive early.
The wreath placement, made possible through donations, will be held after the ceremony concludes at approximately 12:40 p.m. To sponsor wreaths or volunteer for the event, visit www.wreathsacrossamerica.org and search for Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Mountain Home National Cemetery honors veterans and their eligible family members with a final resting place in a national shrine and with lasting tributes that commemorate their service and sacrifice to our nation.
