Historic Blountville Heritage Festival set for Sept. 14

Organizers of the Historic Blountville Heritage Festival are expecting a few extra visitors this year.

The 11th Annual Historic Blountville Heritage Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14 in downtown Historic Blountville. And, according to a press release from the Sullivan County Department of Archives and Tourism, the festival is set to expand.

In addition to the flea market and crafts portion of the festival, this year’s event will also include a car show, silent auction, bouncies and inflatables for children and additional food vendors. Live music will be provided by the Nomadz and other local bands.

Food vendors will have a wide selection of options available for purchase, including everything from barbeque ribs, barbeque chicken and pulled pork to deep fried oreos, moon pies, hot dogs, hamburgers, pork skins, snow cones, kettle corn, chili cheese fries and more. In addition, the Blountville Ruritan will be serving soup beans and cornbread!

Vendors and crafters will have numerous items for sale including antiques, primitive crafts, silverware, jewelry, artwork, yard art, bird baths, woodworking tools, history and genealogy books, Civil War books, dolls, clothing, rocks and minerals, woodcrafts, furniture, toys, paintings, candles, leather goods, UT decor and more.

The 11th Annual Historic Blountville Heritage Festival is sponsored by the Sullivan County Department of Archives and Tourism, with the car show and silent auction sponsored by Central Heights Elementary School.

Vendor spaces for the Historic Blountville Heritage Festival are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for $15. Pre-registration and fees are required by Thursday, Sept. 5.
