Senior dreams become reality at The Blake

The golden years are soon approaching for many senior adults. Many of you are dreaming of the time you can finally reap the rewards of all your life’s work and relax, right? How would you like to wake up in your own studio or two-bedroom residence apartment which includes all utilities and premium cable TV and Wi-Fi services in a wonderful resort-style senior community with countless amenities?

Imagine relaxing on your own balcony or porch overlooking a lush courtyard. How about spending an evening in the courtyard sitting by an open fire or hearing the sound of a flowing water in a beautiful courtyard waterfall? A gorgeous sun-lit chapel awaits you on Sunday mornings on site. Yard work is all taken care of. Daily and weekly housekeeping and linen service is available for you. Eat chef-prepared meals three times daily in a restaurant-style atmosphere, allowing more time to spend doing things you might like: exercise classes, art, music and monthly-themed recreational activities, shopping, watching movies in an on-site theatre room, reading books from the on-property library, spending time with friends at the coffee shop, ice cream or piano bar and lounge, pampering yourself at the on-site beauty salon and spa, having fun with the new IN2L interactive technology or many more activities designed by an activities director.

Imagine all this and also having 24-7 access to on-site nurses for healthcare needs and hand-held call devices to summon staff in moments, day or night, to your residence. There are two communities on the site. Assisted Living residences offer independence with concierge-style options for wellness and activity programs. Parking is provided for resident vehicles and you can take advantage of provided transportation when you need it. The Memory Care community provides residences that are more secure for seniors with special health needs offering the most innovative technology available to assist the residents.

It sounds like a dream, but it will soon be reality in Kingsport, Tenn., at the Riverbend Development.

This dream can come true for you at The Blake - a premier senior living development being brought to the Tri-Cities through a joint venture between Quality Senior Living (QSL), LLC; Elcan Associates, Inc. and Blake Management Group. Site excavations are already being done at the location: 915 Holston Hills Drive, Kingsport. The facility was specifically designed by Arrive Architecture Group. Similar facilities are already built or being developed in Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, South Carolina and Virginia.

“The Blake features a full continuum of services in richly-appointed Assisted Living and Memory Care residences,” says Glenn Barclay, Blake Management co-founder. “If needs change, the people who live here stay here. I am proud to bring a new tradition in senior living to Kingsport.”

Blake Management is a family business and The Blake is named for Glenn’s son. Glenn developed a deep caring concern for seniors and sense of community as a boy and is happy to share this senior community vision with Kingsport. “We take care of the details, so our residences can enjoy the finer things in life,” says Barclay.

The community is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for April 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. Applications will soon be accepted for over 70 staff positions. For more information, floorplans and rates, visit theblakeatkingsport.com or call 423-246-1100.
