The Joey Christian era as head coach of Dobyns-Bennett football kicks off Friday night with arguably the toughest game on the Indians’ schedule.

Last week the Volunteer rifle team took first place in the NRA Junior Standing National Air Rifle Championships overall competition, with team Captain Jaden-Ann Fraser leading the team en route to another individual shooter national championship. Fraser then won another national title in the Junior Olympics.
Gabe Morelock was recently selected to compete in the Special Olympics USA Games July 1-6 in Seattle, Wash. He is only the second VHS student in school history to compete in the Special Olympics USA Games. Zac Bear was in the 2014 games in New Jersey.
Volunteer High School NJROTC recently received notice that they have achieved the coveted distinction of being named a Distinguished Unit for the 10th consecutive year, and a Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors for the 6th consecutive year.

For the 2018-19 school year Emily Christian will not only be the first ever SkillsUSA Tennessee president from Hawkins County, she is the first SkillsUSA president from Northeast Tennessee.
