The Kingsport Town Center will once again be known as the Fort Henry Mall. Hull Property Group of Augusta, Ga., announced Monday the addition of Dunham's Sports and the start of a multi-million renovation of the Kingsport Town Center.
Just this year alone, Sears announced it would be closing its Kingsport location, the locally owned Armoire left its upstairs space and the Charley's Grilled Subs franchise shuttered its doors. A spokesperson for Charley's confirmed to the Times-News this week the franchise officially closed Jan. 31.
Frank Theatres may be leaving the Kingsport Town Center next month, but they may be sticking around the Model City for a second run. Bruce Frank, president and CEO of Frank Theatres told the Times-News the company plans to build one of its CineBowl & Grille complexes in Kingsport beginning this year.
Hull Property Group, the owners of the Kingsport Town Center, filed a complaint against Frank Theatres last month in an attempt to evict the company from the property. HPG claimed Frank had breached its lease and had not paid rent since March 2016.
El Toro is owned by Jose Bravo, who has been in the restaurant business for more than 15 years. Bravo has three El Toro locations in Morristown, White Pines and Dandridge and the Kingsport location will be his first expansion into the Tri-Cities region.
