Throughout the 1950s Rogersville High School's football team dressed in the poorly ventilated gym locker room, until the smell caused a visiting parent to literally faint.

The HCSO said Thursday two other campers at the campground were damaged aside from the three that were burned. One had its cover ripped, and door forced open, and both had gasoline pour in them, but were not ignited.

Sometime during the 1962-63 school year at Rogersville High School a 17-year-old Jim Caswell was allowed to skip one period of class every day for a couple of weeks while he painted the team mascot "Warrior" at center court of the gym.

There is evidence that a $50,000 grant transferred from Hawkins County to Mount Carmel to build City Hall nearly 40 years ago included provisions requiring permanent space in the facility be allotted for use by senior citizens.

Food Lion of Gate City donated 1,500 food items to the no-questions asked free store, located on Myrtle Street in Kingsport. It was enough items to fill an entire pick-up truck and expected to make 850 meals.
