Some farms, Bartholomew said, have multiple mazes with different designs, or some may have a large maze showcasing one design. A separate maze may be on the farm for smaller children to go through in a shorter amount of time.

Area students have less than two weeks left to enter the design contest for the medal, which will be based on the Civil War veteran's medal. The back of the medal reads "150th Anniversary, Battle of Kingsport, Dec. 13, 1864-2014."
