Torched vehicle linked to unpaid debt

Shortly after midnight, a Kingsport resident arrived home to find her neighbor's PT Cruiser was on fire. Police responded to find the blaze still going, while another vehicle had "toilet paper near the front windshield and a strong odor of gasoline."

ATV rider faces felony in Kingsport chase

At 4:45 p.m. police spotted an ATV and a dirt bike traveling East Stone Drive, with neither rider wearing a helmet. When they pulled into the Holston Medical Group the officer followed, but they eluded a stop and "weaved around multiple vehicles."

A "hysterical" 911 caller reported her dogs were stolen, and she was currently a passenger in a vehicle that was chasing the suspect. Despite instructions from dispatch, the driver refused to cease the pursuit, then failed to stop for responding officers.

A man told police he had attended a Kingsport church earlier in the afternoon, but the pastor told him to leave because "he was there for the wrong reasons." When he refused, the pastor grabbed the worshiper's belt to forcefully remove him from a pew.
