Tennessee man pleads guilty in package-bomb deaths

Richard Parker is the son-in-law of Jon and Marion Setzer, who were killed after a package bomb exploded at their house in February. Prosecutors say the motive in the death is Parker owed the Setzers about $40,000.

UPDATE: Police identify woman killed in Rogersville wreck

Ashley N. Lawson, 18, of Mooresburg, was killed Tuesday afternoon when a tractor trailer reportedly turned into her vehicle's path on Highway 11-W. A male occupant and an infant passenger were rescued from the wreckage.

The would-be Kingsport shuttle driver had "4 million safe miles on a tractor trailer" but no school bus endorsement, and didn't realize he needed one until going to get the bus Monday morning, Assistant Director of Schools Gene Johnson said Monday.

Woman accused of killing 2-year-old daughter at resort

Authorities began looking for Jessica Smith on Friday after a housekeeper at the Surfsand Resort in Cannon Beach found the body of Smith's 2-year-old daughter in a room. The other daughter, age 13, was badly cut and taken to a hospital for surgery.
