Large coal power plants getting life extensions

The nation’s big coal-burning power plants are not ready to become dinosaurs. Utilities are making substantial investments to keep their largest coal generating stations operating for decades — and emitting millions of tons of carbon dioxide annually.

Johnson City police investigating infant death

According to police, someone at 1901 Knob Creek Road found the infant unresponsive and called 911. The infant, who was not identified, had been taken to the hospital where it was pronounced dead.
