Bond request denied for suspect in 'severe' child abuse case

GATE CITY — A Southwest Virginia man accused of severely abusing his live-in girlfriend's 14-month-old son had his request for bond denied during an appearance Wednesday in Scott County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
