Let the Fun begin: Mardi Gras set to kick things off

KINGSPORT — Fun Fest 2013, Kingsport’s annual festival dedicated to fun and community unity, kicks off today. Mardi Gras will launch the festival at 11:30 a.m. on Broad Street in downtown Kingsport. The Fun Fest Parade begins at 6:30.

Bids for Surgoinsville’s new sewer system are expected to be advertised in late August, but in the meantime the Board of Mayor and Aldermen will begin condemnation proceedings on three property owners who haven’t given the town a sewer line easement.
