Snow accumulations were rapidly increasing throughout Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia on Wednesday night. Law enforcement and forecasters were expecting treacherous roads and greater snow totals for Thursday morning.

KINGSPORT — Jerry Wayne Patrick, 61, of 168 Weeping Willow Drive, Hiltons, Va., is charged with criminally negligent homicide, performing an illegal U-turn and failure to exercise due care. The crash occurred on Nov. 30 along Lynn Garden Drive.
