Voting heavy in region as polls open

Election day has kicked off with quite a surge in the region. Before voting began more than 100 people were lined up at the Sullivan County Election Office in Blountville, while about 400 voters cast ballots in the first hour at Bristol Virginia's precinc

Kingsport BMA OKs $248,000 to make up for veterans memorial shortfall

Kingsport Tomorrow and project officials came before the BMA asking the city to cover a $248,000 shortfall. The groups have raised about $600,000 in donations and pledges for the project.
